The Post-Majority Support Services Supervisor will review case plans for youth accessing this program, approving claims, organization support meetings, life skills programming, preparing proposals, loan applications, as needed to provided these youth with self-sufficiency.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess either a Degree in BISW/BSW with at least one (1) year experience in CFS or a Certificate in Indian Social Work with at least 3 years’ experience in Human Services.

  • Must have experience in Supervision which will include providing direction and support to a variety of employees.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships

  • Must have excellent workload management skills (organized, prioritize and manage time well).

  • Must be able to problem solve and make appropriate decisions (gather information and make clear decisions or recommendations.

Position Summary:

The Prevention Worker will report to the Red Earth Prevention Supervisor. The Prevention Worker will assist with coordination of workshops in areas of selfesteem, personal growth, parenting, anger management suicide intervention, healthy relationships, life skills and any other issues identified by NCCFS. The Prevention Worker will incorporate appropriate cultural and tradition practices into all community activities/programs. The Prevention Worker will engage and consult with NCCFS in program design and delivery.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess either a four (4) year University Degree in the areas of Social Work or related discipline. Two (2) Years experience in facilitating would be an asset.

  • Willingness to work evenings and some weekends, if required. Working Hours (Monday - Thursday 1pm to 9pm and Friday 9am to 12pm Payroll/Non Payroll 9am to 3pm)

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships.

Position Summary:

The RESL Land Based Coordinator reports to the Red Earth Prevention Supervisor. To provide RECN/SLCN traditional and spiritual land based teachings to members of RECN/SLCN through hands on learning in a wilderness and/or camp setting; to provide people with the cultural knowledge required to be a self-sustainable First Nation.

The RESL Land Based Coordinator will allocate time in office with Red Earth Main Office and Shoal Lake Sub Office.

Competencies/Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in traditional land-based practices including, but not limited to; hunting, fishing, trapping, wilderness survival, gun safety, water safety, etc.

  • Must have experience in Supervision which will include providing direction and support to a variety of employees.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships.

  • Must have excellent workload management skills (organized, prioritize, and manage time well).

  • Must be able to problem solve and make appropriate decisions.

Position Summary:

The Youth Worker 2 will report to the Prevention Supervisor. The Youth Worker 2 is responsible for providing support services to youth assigned to her/him by the Prevention Supervisor. The Youth Worker 2 will follow the case plan as developed by the Prevention Supervisor. Responsible for providing one on one support services as identified in the case plan for each youth they are assigned to. Establishing a relationship of trust and support by being caring and honest, showing primary concern to the youth and their family. Helping youth and their families/caregivers become involved in activities designed to reduce isolation and to establish support systems. Engaging in the positive and healthy activities with the youth and teaching them how to select positive healthy activities. Teaching life skills, such as preparation for independent living, parenting skills, budgeting and hygiene; planning for transitioning out of care, etc. Providing opportunities for youth to become involved in cultural and traditional practices/ceremonies.

Employment Opportunity: Intake Investigation Worker

Position Summary:

The Intake Investigation Worker reports to the Protection Manager.

The duty and responsibility of the Intake Investigation Worker is to receive, screen and validate all reports of child maltreatment as identified in Section 11 of the Child & Family Services Act. Identify children who are at risk of or being maltreated due to acts of omission by their parents, care givers, or any person who is in a capacity of loco-parentis and intervene to remediate the issues/conditions that exist within the family which cause that child/ren to need protection as per legal mandate of the Saskatchewan Child & Family Services Act.

The Intake Investigation Worker works as part of a larger community human resource team in determining community child protection and family support service needs. Based on current fundamental social work and child welfare values the Intake Investigation. Worker will work from a strength based, family centred model. While ensuring services are holistic in nature, empowers families to adequately care for their children and reflective of the traditions, customs values and language of the community. The Intake Investigation Worker is bound by the Canadian Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and legislated requirements of confidentiality as specified by The Saskatchewan Child and Family Services Act; Section 74.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess a Degree in BISW/BSW

  • Client Focus - Identifying and responding to current client needs; maintain positive client relations.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships

  • Must have excellent workload management skills (organized, prioritize and manage time well). 

  • Must be able to problem solve and make appropriate decisions (gather information and make clear decisions or recommendations.

  • Must complete a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector record.

  • Willingness to work some evenings and some weekends, if required.

  • Must have advanced computer skills.

  • Must maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Must possess a Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Employment Opportunity: Shoal Lake Sub Office On-Call Emergency Worker

Position Summary:

The On-Call Emergency Worker is responsible to provide scheduled after hours/on call services when the offices of Nechapanuk Centre Child and Family Services are closed. In many cases, this will involve 24 hour on call service. The On-Call Emergency Worker will consult with and provide written reports to the on call Child and Child Protection Supervisor. Reports must be provided the following working day of referral/intake. It may be necessary to provide immediate temporary placement of children requiring protection in emergency situations. With approval from the onsite supervisor, the Emergency Casual Worker will make the placement. This position holds a strong commitment to protecting children. The On-Call Emergency Worker will perform other duties as required by the immediate Supervisor.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess either a Degree in BISW/BSW with at least one (1) year experience in CFS or a Certificate in Indian Social Work.

  • Must possess a Valid Class 5 driver’s license. Reliable Vehicle. Must maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work as a team player

  • Must have the ability to work independently, prioritize appropriately.

  • Must maintain confidentiality as it pertains to all aspects of counselling and client/counsellor relationship.

  • Must complete a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector record. 

  • Willingness to work some evenings and some weekends, if required. Other duties required by Supervisor/ Executive Director.

  • Must possess skills in self-motivation, interpersonal relations, learning and research.

  • Organize, present and record information in a clear, concise, complete, accurate and timely manner.

  • Must be creative, resourceful and assertive. Must have advanced computer skills. General knowledge of office equipment.

Position Summary:

The Prevention Manager reports to the Executive Director. The Prevention Manager is responsible for managing the preventive activities and support services that will enhance the wellbeing and social functioning of the family unit, as we as provided support for those who have been affected by an individual or family crisis. Components of the prevention model include personal coach services with parent aides and parent educators; personal crisis intervention through assessment, support and assistance, referral to appropriate professional and community resources; collaborative intervention in community crisis; consultancy internally to staff and externally to the community; and in-service training to staff and volunteers. The Prevention Manager will allocate time in office with all three (3) offices equally.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess either a Degree in BISW/BSW with at least three (3) years experiences as a Supervisor in a human services environment.

  • Experience in Program

  • Degree Business Management/Administration

  • Must have experience in Supervision which will include providing direction and support to a variety of employees.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships.
