 Family Services Worker

Position Summary:

Nechapanuk Centre is seeking a highly motivated person who is willing to meet the needs of child well-being. Family Services Worker will report to a supervisor for support and direction when working with intakes and case direction. This will include working with children in care, arrange and develop reunification planning and work with parents and guardians for case planning for children On-Reserve. Nechapanuk Centre follows the Child & Family Services Act from Saskatchewan and works within the context with the traditional values of membership of Cumberland House Cree Nation, Red Earth Cree Nation and Shoal Lake Cree Nation.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess either a Degree in BISW/BSW with at least one (1) year experience in CFS or a Certificate in Indian Social Work with at least 3 years’ experience in Human Services.

  • Willingness to work some evenings and some weekends, if required.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships

  • Must be organized

  • Must be able to problem solve and make appropriate decisions (gather information and make clear decisions or recommendations.

  • Must complete a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector record.

  • Must have advanced computer skills.

  • Must maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Must possess a Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
