Employment Opportunity: Red Earth Main Office Post-Majority Support Services Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Post-Majority Support Services Supervisor is responsible for over seeing Support Services provided to youth and young adults who have reached or surpassed the age of majority, i.e. a young person who is older than the age of majority residing in the First Nation helping First Nation Youth and Young Adults to have access to Post-Majority Support Services: Financial Support & Safe, Stable, Comfortable Housing, Learning, Educational & Professional Development Opportunities, Physical, Mental and Social Well-being, (Re)connect with Land, Culture, Language & Community. The Post-Majority Support Services Supervisor will review case plans for youth accessing this program, approving claims, organization support meetings, life skills programming, preparing proposals, loan applications, as needed to provided these youth with self-sufficiency.

Researching and locating past aged youth. Support the PMSS Navigators and PMSS Program Assistant of the Post-Majority Support Services Program. Reporting to Child Protection Manager.

Competencies/Requirements

  • Must possess either a Degree in BISW/BSW with at least one (1) year experience in CFS or a Certificate in Indian Social Work with at least 3 years’ experience in Human Services.

  • Must have experience in Supervision which will include providing direction and support to a variety of employees.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work as a team player/facilitator and engage people to build relationships

  • Must have excellent workload management skills (organized, prioritize and manage time well).

  • Must be able to problem solve and make appropriate decisions (gather information and make clear decisions or recommendations.

  • Must complete a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector record.

  • Willingness to work some evenings and some weekends, if required.

  • Must have advanced computer skills.

  • Must maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Must possess a Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Please Call Human Resources Officer during working hours (if not available call RE Main Office, CH Sub Office or SL Sub Office to request) for request of Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Letter to Carrot River or Cumberland House RCMP Detachment (this will be needed by Carrot River or Cumberland House RCMP Detachment)
